A Housekeeping Floor Attendant is responsible for ensuring that the floors of a building or facility are clean and well-maintained. This can include sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing floors, as well as vacuuming carpets and rugs. In addition to cleaning duties, a Housekeeping Floor Attendant may also be responsible for inspecting floors for any damage or maintenance needs, and reporting those issues to management.

Other duties of a Housekeeping Floor Attendant may include restocking cleaning supplies, emptying trash bins, and cleaning and organizing storage areas. They may also be responsible for setting up and tearing down equipment for events, such as tables and chairs.

Overall, a Housekeeping Floor Attendant plays an important role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of a building or facility. They must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team, and have strong attention to detail to ensure that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard.

The Floor attendant will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, orderliness, and adequate supply of assigned housekeeping guestrooms and work areas.

They should be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.

Floor Attendant Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports check-out rooms immediately after inspection by phone call to HK office.
  • Cleans guest rooms according to the procedure.
  • Ensures that guest preferences are met all the time.
  • Picks up a service area, pantry, corridors, and exit stairwells regularly.
  • Keeps the service area, pantry, and trolleys clean and tidy.
  • Exchanges the linen with laundry and linen room.
  • Ensures laundry, dry cleaning, and pressing are delivered.
  • Reports fixtures or other items that need maintenance repair to the HK office.
  • Reports any illness of guests and accidents.
  • Sells the products to customers.
  • Reports the minibar consumption to the HK office.
  • Be alert of suspicious characters in the hallways and report immediately to the security department.
  • Attends to guest calls, guest requests /guest complaints in the area assigned to him.
  • Authorize to enter guestrooms for cleaning and providing turndown services as per requirement.
  • Responsible for following the standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding the guest satisfaction score.
  • Update the status of rooms cleaned on the assignment sheet.
  • Return and restock cart at end of shift.

Reports To: Housekeeping Floor Supervisor

Prerequisites:

  • Service-orientated, pleasing personality and leadership capabilities.
  • Good health, Neat and pleasant appearance
  • Proficiency in computer programs like MS Word, and Excel and working experience in hotel software like Opera, Protel, Fidelio, etc. is an added advantage.

Education:

  • High School or Diploma in Hotel Administration, Bachelor in Hotel Management.

Experience:

  • Experience of two to three years in a related position.
