Sump Pump for Plant Room Checklist and Procedure:
Required Tools:
-
Screwdriver.
-
Clamp meter.
-
Crimping Tool.
-
Megger.
-
Oil Can.
-
Grease Gun.
-
Plier.
-
Spanner Set.
-
Brush.
-
Bush.
-
Line Tester.
Consumable Parts:
-
PVC tape.
-
WD- 40.
-
Lubricating Oil.
-
Grease.
-
Carbon removing compound.
-
Old cleaning clothes.
Sump Pump Maintenance Activity:
Pump:
-
Check the alignment of the pump and the motor.
-
Check the shaft if the same is loose or broken.
-
Broken shaft to be removed immediately.
-
Check the bearing and if required do oiling or greasing.
-
Replace bearing if it is too noisy.
-
Check the bush if it is loose or broken.
-
Replace broken bush.
-
Check the coupling of the motor pump.
-
Check the but & bolts, tighten nut & bolts if required.
-
Check the impeller for loose & broken, replace if required.
-
Check stainer if it's broken, cleaning to be also done.
Motor:
-
Motor Should be of minimum 5 HP.
-
Electrical control should be proper.
-
Check for any burnt contact, loose electrical connection and overall operation to be checked.
-
Overload relay should be checked.
-
Check the operation of the relay, setting and loose electrical connections.
-
Check the timer operation and time settings.
-
Check for any loose electrical connection.
-
Check for any loose & burnt electrical connection.
-
Check the MCB rating and verify with the recommended Amp.
-
Check the motor bearing.
-
Perform oiling, greasing or change the bearing if required.
-
Check the internal Resistance Value.
Other points to check:
-
Check at the full Load motor capacity should be 7.5 Amp.
-
Check and verify the overload setting should be 8 Amp.
-
Overload relay range should be between 6Amp to 10Amp.
-
Check and verify the control fuse rating at 4 Amp.
-
Check and verify the MCB rating should be at 32 Amp.
