The role of a Supply Clerk in Hotels is a crucial one. The Supply Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all necessary supplies are available in sufficient quantity to meet the needs of the hotel’s guests and staff. This includes everything from toiletries and linens to cleaning supplies and office products.

The Supply Clerk is also responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ordering supplies as needed. They must be organized and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills to work effectively with vendors, colleagues, and hotel management.

This role requires physical stamina, as the Supply Clerk must be able to lift and move heavy boxes and supplies. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs and priorities.

The supply clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory and issuing materials and supplies in an organization. They keep track of stock levels, order new supplies as needed, and track shipments. They may also be responsible for unpacking and storing new supplies.

SUPPLY CLERK DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies.
  •  Distributes incoming materials and has sole responsibility for the task of collecting outbound materials. Performs other tasks as required.
  •  Issue materials and supplies to employees.
  •  Helps to ensure that the flow of cargo is both inbound and outbound in a cost-effective manner.
  •  Order new supplies as needed.
  •  Updates customer information for each of its customers.
  •  Maintains each customer’s delivery time windows.
  •  Track shipments.
  •  Manages load utilization and Coordinates common carrier activities.
  •  Maintains customer database and profile by customer location.
  •  Unpack and store new supplies.
  •  Maintains the customer database network system. In charge of raw material tracking.
  •  Manages communications related to material logistics distribution.

JOB TITLE: SUPPLY CLERK

REPORTS TO: Store Manager

PREREQUISITES:

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
  •  Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  •  The ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor is required due to the requirement for unassisted lifting, moving, and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in receipt, accountability, and inventory of equipment and spare parts will be an advantage.
