Organization Chart Hotel Sales and Marketing Department

In the hotel industry, sales and marketing are two critical departments that work hand in hand to drive revenue and profits for the business. A well-structured organization chart is essential to ensure that both departments operate efficiently and effectively.

At the top of the hierarchy is the Director of Sales and Marketing, who oversees the entire team. Reporting to the Director are the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, and Revenue Manager. The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive business, manage the sales team, and maintain relationships with clients. The Marketing Manager, on the other hand, is responsible for creating marketing campaigns, managing the hotel’s brand, and promoting the hotel’s services to potential customers.

The Revenue Manager is responsible for analyzing market trends, monitoring competitors’ pricing, and optimizing the hotel’s revenue streams. Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Managers are the Sales and Marketing Coordinators, who support their respective departments through administrative tasks, data analysis, and research.

Hotel sales and marketing departments vary with the type of hotel organization, size, and budget. But all hotels whether it is large or small should have a sales and marketing department to take care of the sales and marketing strategies of the hotel.

At smaller hotels, a sales executive handles businesses from all market segments, They may deal with Travel agents, Tour operators, Event planners, Corporate guests, online travel agents, and travel consortia.

Large hotels have specialized sales managers and executives to handle different market segments. For example, one sales manager and sales executive is only assigned to handle Corporate clients, another to handle travel and trade, etc.
