Denier is a unit of weight of silk; nylon; or rayon that is an indicator of fineness. One denier is equal to 5/100 of a gram in a 450-meter length of thread. The smaller the number; the smaller the circumference of the thread. (fifteen-denier nylon lingerie is more transparent than 25-denier nylon lingerie.)
